"El Llamado" is a large-scale mosaic mural created by Puerto Rican artist Celso González, produced by SIEMPRE Estudio Creativo, and permanently installed at the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture in Chicago. The artwork celebrates Puerto Rican identity and cultural resilience through a visual narrative that connects tradition and modernity. Made entirely of hand-cut ceramic tiles, the piece incorporates vibrant color transitions and detailed patterns that evoke the island’s natural landscapes and Afro-Caribbean heritage. The mural was designed in Puerto Rico, then installed on-site. The project stands as a symbol of cultural exchange and artistic craftsmanship bridging Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rican diaspora in Chicago.
